MENTASTICS (r) lessons: enjoyable easy movement for everyone
"Mentastics," the TRAGER approach to self-care, uses simple and effective movement based on the mind's ability to feel and recall experiences of freedom and ease. It all starts with a simple mental act of feeling the weight (of an arm, for example) and playfully moving so that a body part experiences its optimal relationship to the whole body, mind and mood. Mentastics movement can be adapted to any condition, can be subtle or exuberant, and is always pleasurable.
Mentastics movement can be considered a form of meditation, because it both relaxes and focuses the mind - and at the same time imparts a carefree quality to all the ordinary movements we do in daily life: walking, eating, working, getting into and out of chairs, lifting, and so on.
One-hour drop in "classes" are times to relax and enjoy movement at your own pace. For a schedule, write Gail Stewart at [email protected]. For a full description of Mentastics, see Milton Trager's book, Mentastics Movement as a Way to Agelessness, available on Amazon or on the website of the United States Trager Association, www.tragerapproach.us.

Continuing education and Trager(R) certification for bodywork professionals
Continuing Education workshops for massage practitioners, bodyworkers, physical therapists and dancers introduce the principles and practice of the TRAGER approach. The one- and two-day workshops offer ways to simplify your body use and increase your effectiveness, whatever form of bodywork you practice. Adding enjoyable movement "homework" assignments can help your clients maintain the results of your hands-on sessions. For further description of the TRAGER approach, see www.Trager.com or www.tragerapproach.us. To sponsor or attend a workshop, write [email protected].
